Community Service
Sacred Heart Parish School students are encouraged to participate in community service. Collecting food for our local community, making packages for disadvantaged children, making lunches for those waiting in line at Fishes and Loaves, visiting the elderly and infirm, among others. The SHPS Student Council sponsors several community service activities each year, which vary depending on what the students choose to do. Our student council also oversees all of the spirit days and the end-of-the-year field day activities.
Faith Partners
At the beginning of each new school year, all students in Grades 6 – 8 are paired with student in K – 2, respectively, as part of our Faith Partner Program. The Faith Partners meet several times a year to play games, complete activities, work on art projects and make holiday gifts, practice reading skills, and help guide the younger children as they learn about the Catholic Faith. The older and younger students look forward to this time together and this program helps to strengthen the overall community, as well as prepare the younger children for their First Holy Communion in Second Grade.
